A new study published in Biology and Fertility of Soils reveals that biochar significantly enhances soil microbial diversity, nutrient availability, and enzyme activity during tobacco growth. The moderate biochar treatment (0.9 t/hm²) improved pH, phosphorus, and potassium levels while boosting genes linked to carbon and nitrogen cycling, offering valuable insights for sustainable soil management.
