Indian researchers discovered and characterized eleven isolates of Metarhizium rileyi from Andhra Pradesh, identifying highly virulent strains effective against fall armyworm (Spodoptera frugiperda). These native fungi could serve as sustainable biocontrol agents in integrated pest management for maize.
